She graduated in History from Lady Shri Ram college as a Topper from Delhi University, and went on to major in Film Editing from the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. Once again she excelled throughout to win the Baburao Patel Prize for Best Student and the Kamlakar V. Karkhanis Prize for Best Film Editor. Vandana currently lives and works in Delhi. She has to her credit several films and documentaries that she has scripted, directed and edited. Her work includes projects for The National Geographic Channel, The History Channel, Doordarshan (India’s State Broadcasting National Network) and Star Plus amongst other networks. Other projects include films for various agencies of the United Nations (UNIDO, UNIFEM, WFP, WHO), various ministries of the Government of India amongst other clients.
